Ticketing and pricing
TimbaTicket lets you create as many ticket types as an event needs, each with its own price. The price buyers see depends on the event's fee policy: the platform fee is either absorbed into your proceeds or passed through as a per-ticket addition.
Creating ticket types
In an event's Tickets tab you add ticket types (General Admission, Early Bird, VIP, …), each with a price. Buyers pick a type, a quantity (capped at remaining capacity) and any discount code at checkout.
How the platform fee works
Every ticket carries a platform fee that is charged as a Square Application Fee — Square splits the payment at the till: the fee goes to TimbaTicket, the rest goes to your Square account.
The fee is per ticket and depends on your plan:
| Plan | Platform fee per ticket |
|---|---|
| Free (Start) | £0.60 |
| Grow | £0.45 |
| Pro | £0.35 |
| Trial | £0.60 (same as Free) |
Plan prices themselves are in Plans & pricing.
Absorbed vs passed-through fees
Every event/account has a fee policy:
- Absorbed — the buyer pays exactly the ticket price; the platform fee comes out of your proceeds.
- Passed through — the per-ticket fee is added to the buyer's price at checkout, so buyers see ticket price + fee.
The effective policy is the event's override, else the account default, else absorbed.
A note on pricing display today
TimbaTicket is in closed beta. The marketing site's pricing section and the dashboard's upgrade
buttons are currently switched off (SHOW_PRICING = false, SHOW_UPGRADE_BUTTONS = false), so you
won't see published prices on the public marketing site — but the plan structure above is what's
implemented.
