Create an event (5-step wizard)

The event wizard is the fastest way to set up a new event. It walks you through five steps, saving your progress as a draft along the way. You can leave and come back at any time.

Before you start

You need an active TimbaTicket account. If you have not created an organisation yet, the dashboard will prompt you to do that first.

The five steps

Step 1: Event Details

Fill in the basics:

  • Event Name (required) — the public name of your event
  • Public link (optional) — a custom URL slug (e.g. your-org.timbaticket.com/event/my-event). Leave blank to auto-generate from the name
  • Summary (optional) — a short tagline shown under the title (max 140 characters)
  • Description (required) — a full description using simple formatting (bold, italic, links, lists). Tell attendees what makes this event special

Click Next to continue.

Step 2: Venue & Date

  • Start Date & Time (required)
  • End Date & Time (optional) — setting an end date unlocks door-staff check-in links later
  • Venue Name (required)
  • Address — address line 1, address line 2, town, county, postcode
  • Total Capacity (required) — the maximum number of tickets available
  • Minimum Age (optional) — e.g. 18

You will also see options for sales window settings (when tickets go on sale and when sales close).

Your event is saved as a draft when you complete this step — even if you close the browser and come back later, your draft is still there.

Step 3: Media

  • Cover Image (required before publishing) — upload your best event photo. Square (1:1) format recommended, at least 1080 × 1080 px. The top and bottom ~10% may be trimmed on non-square images
  • Video (optional) — a promotional clip
  • Photo Gallery (optional) — additional images

A great photo is what people see first on your event page. You cannot publish without one.

Step 4: Tickets

Add at least one ticket type so people can actually buy tickets. For each ticket type you can set:

  • A Package Name (e.g. "Standard", "VIP")
  • One or more Price Tiers with different prices for advance vs door sales
  • Sales Channel (online, door, or both)
  • Availability windows (optional — when each tier goes on sale and when it closes)

If you have run events before, you can copy ticket types from a previous event instead of starting from scratch.

You can also add Discount Codes at this step.

Step 5: Review

See a preview of how your event will look to buyers. Check:

  • Event name and description
  • Cover image display
  • Date, time, and venue
  • Ticket types and prices

From here you can:

  • Save as draft & finish later — keeps everything as a draft
  • Publish — makes your event live immediately (single-owner events) or sends a publish request (multi-owner events)
  • Discard — deletes the draft entirely

What happens after publishing

Once published, your event page is live at the public URL. You can share the link, and people can start buying tickets. You will see a confirmation screen with sharing options and your public event link.
