Publish your event

Publishing makes your event visible to the public. Before publishing, your event is a private draft — only you can see it.

Prerequisites

Before you can publish, you need:

  1. A cover image — upload one in the Media step of the wizard or the Overview tab
  2. At least one ticket type — add one in the Tickets step or the Sales tab

The publish button will tell you what is missing if either requirement is not met.

How to publish

There are three ways to publish:

  1. From the wizard — click Publish on the Review step (Step 5)
  2. From the event header — click Publish now in the top-right corner of the event workspace
  3. From the setup checklist — click the Publish now or Request approval pill in the checklist bar

All three do the same thing: they change your event's status from draft to published.

Single-owner vs multi-owner events

Single-owner events (you are the only owner organisation) publish immediately when you click Publish.

Multi-owner events (two or more organisations collaborate on the event) go through an approval process:

  1. The requesting owner clicks Publish — the event status changes to pending_approval
  2. Each other owner organisation receives a notification and can Approve or Request changes
  3. Once every owner has approved, the event becomes published
  4. If any owner requests changes, the event returns to draft

After publishing

Once published:

  • Your event page is live at the public URL
  • People can buy tickets
• You will see a confirmation screen with sharing options
  • The Sales tab shows a green indicator confirming the event is live

Unpublishing

You can unpublish an event at any time from the Reports tab's Advanced Settings card, or by clicking Unpublish in the event header. This changes the status back to draft and stops new ticket sales immediately. Existing ticket holders retain their tickets.

caution

Unpublishing does not automatically refund existing orders. If you need to cancel the event entirely, handle refunds separately.
