Event basics: name, dates, capacity
Every event in TimbaTicket is defined by a few core fields. Understanding what each one does helps you set up your event correctly the first time.
Event name
Your event's public name, shown on the event page, in search results, and on tickets. You can change this at any time, even after publishing.
Public link (URL slug)
The URL where people find your event (e.g. your-org.timbaticket.com/event/my-event). You can set a custom slug during creation, or let TimbaTicket generate one from the name.
Once tickets have been sold, the URL slug cannot be changed. This prevents broken links for people who have already shared or bookmarked the page.
Dates
- Start Date & Time (required) — when your event begins. This is shown prominently on the public page and used for countdown timers
- End Date & Time (optional) — when your event ends. Setting an end date unlocks the door-staff check-in link feature
An event is automatically marked as Ended once its end date passes (or, if no end date is set, based on other heuristics).
Venue
- Venue Name (required) — shown on the public page with a map
- Address fields — address line 1, address line 2, town, county, postcode. Used for the map and for attendees to find the location
Capacity
The total number of tickets available across all ticket types. This is set once during event creation and controls the maximum number of people who can attend.
Capacity does not change automatically — if you need to increase it, edit the event in the Overview tab.
Description
A free-text description of your event, supporting simple formatting (bold, italic, links, lists). This appears on the public event page and is your chance to sell the experience.
Other fields
- Summary (optional) — a short tagline shown under the title (max 140 characters)
- Minimum Age (optional) — displayed on the public page as a requirement
- No-Refund Policy — a checkbox (on by default) that adds a no-refund notice to the checkout
- Cover Image (required to publish) — the main photo for your event
- Video (optional) — a promotional clip shown on the event page
- Photo Gallery (optional) — additional images
