Square payments and the platform fee

Ticket money is paid out to your own Square account, not to TimbaTicket. At each sale, Square splits the payment: the platform fee goes to TimbaTicket and the rest to your merchant account. To use your own account you connect Square in Settings — until then, payments run on TimbaTicket's shared Square account.

Connecting Square

In Settings, the Owner connects the organisation's Square account (this is Owner-only). Once connected, ticket revenue flows to that account.

How money moves at checkout

Every ticket is charged with a Square Application Fee:

  1. The buyer pays at checkout.
  2. Square splits the money at the payment level.
  3. The platform fee → TimbaTicket; the rest → your Square account.

The per-ticket fee amounts are in Ticketing & pricing.

Before you connect Square

Until the account connects Square, the settings screen shows that "Payments currently run on TimbaTicket's shared Square account." In that state, revenue lands in the shared account rather than your own.

Refunds

Refunds are handled from the Orders area by Owners (and are one of the actions Owners can do that Managers/Team can't). See the refund walkthrough: Issue a refund.
