Connect your Square account

TimbaTicket uses Square to process payments. When you connect your own Square account, ticket money goes directly to your bank account — TimbaTicket never holds your funds.

Why connect Square?

  • You get paid directly — money from ticket sales goes to your Square account, then to your bank
  • Platform fees are automatic — TimbaTicket's per-ticket fee is collected as a Square Application Fee at the time of sale
  • You stay in control — disconnect at any time from Settings
note

If you do not connect your own Square account, ticket sales cannot be processed. You need an active Square account to sell tickets.

How to connect

  1. Go to Settings in the main navigation
  2. Find the Square section
  3. Click Connect Square Account
  4. You will be redirected to Square's website
  5. Log in to your Square account (TimbaTicket never sees your password)
  6. Review the permissions TimbaTicket is requesting and click Allow
  7. You will be redirected back to TimbaTicket

The whole process takes about 30 seconds.

What permissions does TimbaTicket need?

Square asks you to authorise these permissions:

  • Payments — to process ticket purchases
  • Orders — to track orders linked to payments
  • Merchant Profile — to identify your account and location

These are read/write permissions necessary for processing payments. TimbaTicket does not access your other Square data.

After connecting

Once connected:

  • Your Square account name and location appear in Settings
  • The checkout on your public event pages shows a booking fee disclosure (if applicable)
  • Ticket sales are processed through your Square account
  • You can disconnect at any time from the same Settings page

If connection fails

Common issues:

  • "This Square account has no active location" — your Square account needs at least one active location (physical or online). Create one in your Square Dashboard
  • Redirect loop — try clearing your browser cookies and starting the connection again
  • Square login error — make sure you are using the correct Square account credentials

Disconnecting

You can disconnect your Square account from Settings at any time. Disconnecting does not affect existing orders — those are already processed. However, you will not be able to process new ticket sales until you reconnect.
