Your tickets & QR codes

After purchasing, your tickets arrive in your email inbox — there's no separate online ticket wallet. Here's how to find and use them.

Where to find your tickets

Your confirmation email is sent to the address you entered during checkout. It contains:

  • One ticket image per ticket — a designed image with your name, the event details, a large QR code, and a reference number
  • A calendar invite (.ics file) — add the event to your phone or computer calendar

The subject line is "Your tickets for [event name]".

If you can't find the email

  1. Check your spam or junk folder — confirmation emails sometimes land there
  2. Check you entered the correct email address — the address on the ticket is the one you typed at checkout
  3. Look for the organiser's name in the email — the sender displays the event organiser's name, not "TimbaTicket"

If you still can't find it, contact the organiser (see Contacting the organiser) and ask them to re-send the confirmation. Organisers can re-send confirmation emails from their dashboard.

How the QR code works

Each ticket has a unique QR code. When you arrive at the venue, the door staff scan your QR code at the check-in desk.

Important: Each QR code can only be scanned once. If you bought multiple tickets, each guest needs their own QR code — you can forward the individual ticket images by email.

What the QR code contains

Your QR code encodes a secure, signed token — not a URL or personal information. It's verified against TimbaTicket's system when scanned, so it can't be forged or copied from a screenshot (the scan checks it hasn't been used already).

Do I need to print my ticket?

No. You can show the ticket image on your phone screen at the door. If your phone battery dies, you can quote your reference number (the 6-character code shown below the QR code on the ticket image) instead — the door staff can look you up manually.

The day-before reminder

You'll receive a reminder email the day before the event. This email does not include a new QR code — your QR code from the original confirmation email is still valid. If you can't find the original, contact the organiser to have it re-sent.

What if my QR code doesn't scan?

  • Make sure you're showing the full ticket image (not a screenshot of just the QR code)
  • Check the screen brightness — door staff scanners work best with a bright screen
  • If it still doesn't scan, the door staff can look you up by your reference number or name
