Invites, links & tracking
This article explains how the relationship between you and an organisation works — from the moment they invite you, through to sales showing up in your portal.
How you get added
The organiser adds you from their own dashboard under the Referral Partners section. They enter your email address and optionally give you a label (for example "DJ Carlos" or "Promoter — Leeds"). You receive an email inviting you to create your account at timbaticket.com/referrals/join.
Once you click the confirmation link in that email, you create your password and log in to the portal for the first time. Your profile is then visible to the organiser and you start appearing in their partner list.
How discount codes work
After you are added, the organiser creates a discount code — a short string (like DJCARLOS10) — and assigns it to you. They then attach that code to specific events. Each event can have its own code or share one across multiple events.
The discount code is what links a ticket purchase to you. You do not create codes yourself — the organiser controls the code name, the discount percentage or amount, and which events it applies to.
How tracking works
When someone clicks your referral link and buys a ticket, the discount code is applied at checkout. The sale is recorded against your code automatically. In your portal, you see:
- How many times your code was used on that event
- How much revenue was generated through your code (the total ticket value of those sales)
You do not see individual buyer names or email addresses — only the aggregate totals per code per event.
Getting paid
TimbaTicket does not calculate or pay referral partner commissions. What you earn from a partnership depends entirely on the agreement you have directly with the organiser — TimbaTicket is not involved in that arrangement. The portal shows you sales and revenue tracking so you and the organiser can see the same numbers, but any payment between you happens outside the platform.
If you have questions about your earnings, speak to the organiser you work with directly.
What the organiser controls
The organiser can, at any time:
- Add or remove you as a partner
- Create new codes or deactivate existing ones
- Link codes to different events
- See which sales came through your codes in their own reports
You cannot do any of these things from your portal — your portal is read-only for your own tracking data.
